GOT QUESTIONS?
HOW LONG DOES A CAR DETAIL TYPICALLY TAKE?
Timescales vary depending on the service. An interior detail typically takes 4 to 7 hours, paint correction 3 to 5 days, and a full PPF installation varies depending on the level of coverage chosen. Bradley will advise on timescales when you get in touch.
WHAT IS PAINT PROTECTION FILM (PPF) AND DO I NEED IT?
Paint protection film is a clear, self-healing polyurethane film applied to your car’s paintwork to protect against stone chips, scratches and road debris. It is particularly recommended for new cars, prestige vehicles and any car that is regularly driven on motorways or country roads where stone chips are a risk. Bradley at Concours Detailing is a certified XPEL PPF installer based near Reading, Berkshire.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PPF AND CERAMIC COATING?
Paint protection film provides physical protection against stone chips and scratches, while ceramic coating provides a chemical barrier against UV damage, dirt and light surface contamination. Both can be applied together for maximum protection — and all PPF installations at Concours Detailing include a free ceramic coating as standard.
HOW MUCH DOES CAR DETAILING COST IN READING?
Prices at Concours Detailing start from £150 for an interior detail, £450 for a ceramic coating, £550 for a new car protection detail, and £750 for paint correction. Paint protection film starts from £200 + VAT for single panels. Bradley will provide a tailored quote based on your car and the service required.
IS IT WORTH GETTING PPF ON A NEW CAR?
Yes — new cars are just as vulnerable to stone chips and scratches as older vehicles, and factory paintwork is often thinner than most people expect. Applying PPF to a new car from day one means the original paintwork stays protected from the moment you drive it away. It also helps maintain the car’s value and condition over time.
